The State Cabinet has decided to streamline the disbursement of old-age pensions, ensuring timely release of funds to 13 lakh beneficiaries under the Kushal Konwar Briddha Pension Scheme. The Swahid Kushal Konwar Sarbajanin Briddha Pension Achoni was launched on October 2, 2018, by former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, coinciding with Mahatma Gandhi's 149th birth anniversary.
**Eligibility Criteria:**
This scheme is intended for residents of Assam aged 60 and above, with exclusions for:
- Beneficiaries of other government schemes.
- Parents of government-employed children.
- Taxpayers earning above INR 2.5 lakhs.
**Application Process:**
Interested individuals can apply online or offline with support from local authorities like Gaon Panchayats, Development Blocks, Municipal Corporations, Municipal Boards, or Town Committees. Applicants must furnish basic details, bank account information, and proof of identity. Upon submission and verification, eligible beneficiaries will commence receiving pension payments.

- Name of the applicant’s Father/Mother/Husband/Wife.
- Gender.
- Date of Birth.
