History of Anundoram Borooah Award
Before 2019, eligible recipients of the Anundoram Borooah Laptop Award Scheme were provided with a laptop, a 2-year 3G/4G internet package, a certificate, and academic books for every subject aligned with the NCERT curriculum in PDF format, digital content (including 2D/3D animations and audio/video) for each stream, and an Online Coaching and Score Improvement System (OLCSIS) for science students.
However, in 2020, instead of a laptop, students were awarded Rs 20,000. This change was due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which severely disrupted supply chains, making the procurement of computers challenging for the government.
This year, the authorities have chosen to deposit Rs. 15,000 (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Only) to the bank account of each eligible student.
